Marina Riga

Curriculum vitae

Marina Riga holds a Diploma in Applied Informatics  from the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki and an MSc degree in Advanced Computer and Communication Systems (orientation: Networking Computation and e-Commerce) from the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh). She worked in the private sector as a web developer. Her main research activities focus in the fields of Environmental Informatics and Computational Intelligence. She works with Data Mining, Machine Learning and knowledge representation with the use of ontologies. She emphasizes in the study of air quality modelling and forecasting problems with statistical and computational methods, and in the analysis of soft sensor data (social networks etc) for the atmospheric environment. She has authored scientific publications for journals and conferences and has participated in national and international research proposals. Ms  Riga is currently a PhD student within ISAG while also working as a research assistant at the Informatics and Telematics Institute of the Centre of Research and Technology Hellas.
