The Informatics Systems & Applications - Environmental Informatics Research Group (ISAG-EI) is led by Dr. Kostas Karatzas, Associate Professor at the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering. ISAG-EI personnel is active in:
  • the academic sector undertaking undergraduate as well as MSc and PhD level courses,
  • the R&D sector in areas like data-driven modelling and problem solving, environmental informatics, computational intelligence, OGC-compliant information services, participatory environmental sensing etc.
  • international collaborations with various Universities, Research Institutes and Companies


We participated in the 1st intercomparison exercise for air quality sensors in the frame of the EuNetAir COST action, Aveiro, Portugal, October 2014 and we are participating in the 2nd intercomparison exercise in Belgrade, Serbia (ongoing).
